What did Jesus really mean when He said, "If you love Me, keep My commandments"? In this episode of the Redeemed & Restored Podcast, we take a careful look at John 14 and allow Scripture to interpret Scripture. Rather than pointing believers back to the Law of Moses, the Apostle John tells us exactly what Christ's commandment is in 1 John 3:23: believe in the name of Jesus Christ and love one another. Together we'll explore how Romans, Galatians, and the rest of the New Testament consistently defend the true Gospel against legalism while calling believers to a life transformed by grace.
We'll also examine the two major false teachings that threatened the early church, the Judaizers who tried to add the Law to the Gospel, and the Gnostics who some of them rejected holy living altogether. Those same distortions are still alive today, but the answer has never changed. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone. If you've ever wrestled with legalism, wondered what biblical obedience really looks like, or needed the reminder that freedom is found in Christ and not religious performance, this episode is for you.
